Some notes on using our tarball to install/upgrade Opensim

Inside your opensim folder are a few files that are worth noting.

The following files contain IG specific configuration information.

You must include our settings in these for your software to work properly with our Grid

/bin/OpenSim.ini
/bin/config-include/GridCommon.ini

The following files contain YOUR information in the case of an upgrade.

BEWARE OF OVERWRITING THESE FILES

/bin/OpenSim.ini
/bin/Regions/anyfile.ini <- all INI files in this directory are read on startup of OpenSim.exe

Notes

You may have noticed that OpenSim.ini is in both lists. You must be careful and ensure that any custom changes you might have made to your copy of this file are not lost when installing the one that has our settings in it. Generally the only line that is customised is http_listener = 9000
